Greater Harlem’s Alzheimer’s Program

The program is supported by the Labor-Management Project of 1199/SEIU/League Planning and Placement Fund and the Alzheimer’s Association who provide education and training for the staff. The program is conducted in a safe stimulating environment; staff from the Activities and Nursing Departments work with the residents in providing meaningful activities that include, handicrafts, sing-a-long, music, dancing, worship, baking and current events discussions.
The program was implemented in March 2001 on the 2nd floor and is now on all floors in the facility.
