Transcript From Mr. Leon Allen's Interview

 Question 1: How has your experience been at Greater Harlem Nursing Home?

                       Allen’s Answer:  “It was excellent!”

 Question 2:  What do you think you most benefited from?

       Nursing Services, Physical and Occupational Therapy and/or Recreation

                       Allen’s Answer:  “Physical Therapy and Nursing Services!”

 Question 3:  Would you recommend this facility to others?

                      Allen’s Answer:  “Everyone and Anyone!”

 Question 4:  Overall how would you rate Greater Harlem Nursing Home?

                     Allen’s Answer:  “I would give it a Five Star Rating!”

 Question 5:  How was your condition before entering the facility?

                    Allen’s Answer:  “I couldn’t walk, I was in a wheelchair, I couldn’t shave, and I couldn’t move my hands.      I came to Greater Harlem in a wheelchair and I walked out on my own!”

                      How was your progress?

                      Allen’s Answer:  “Progress was Slow but sure!”  “I was here for over 18 months and like I said at first it was  slow but after I got acclimated to the facility and to the things that they offered I came off very well.”

                      Were you satisfied with your recovery?

                   Allen’s Answer:  “Excellent recovery, I’m able to raise both legs and do things most people can’t do with themselves now!” “Now how’s that!”

 Question 6: Mr. Allen talking about his whole experience.

                   Allen’s Answer:  “When I first came here I was very disillusioned because I had just come out of Harlem Hospital, I had had a Stroke, I was in a coma for 6 weeks and they expected me to die, I was able to come out of Harlem Hospital with help of Ms. Brown, Ms. Fuller, Ms. Bella Smith and Charlie Morris all them were instrumental in me getting into Greater Harlem and when I got here I was treated very, very, very well to be able to say again that I can do things that most people can’t do and I am 79 Years Old.”
